STAMFORD, Conn. (June 21, 2016) –Saffron Road®, the fastest growing brand of premium frozen entrees, will introduce its expanded plant based protein snack line including new innovative legume snack, BeanStalks®, at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City from June 26-28th.

Earlier this year, the brand launched a line of globally inspired lentil chips and crackers in addition to adding a new flavor to their crunchy chickpea snack line. Lentils and chickpeas are among the world’s healthiest foods – they’re a good source of protein, folic acid, and both soluble and insoluble dietary fiber. Plant-based nutrition is an essential component of the natural and organic industry. Pulses such as dry beans, lentils, and chickpeas are gaining attention as nutritionally superior value-added foods and ingredients, based on their wholesome, sustainable, gluten-free, and non-GMO attributes.

Saffron Road’s new Beanstalks are tube shaped crunchy snacks created from green peas, pinto beans and cannellini beans which originate from the Mediterranean Basin and South America. Because of their legume base, one serving of BeanStalks (which is 21 stalks!) contains 3 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber and just 120 calories. They come in three flavors - Sea Salt, Cheddar, and Barbeque - and their launch further demonstrates the brand’s commitment to bringing premium World Cuisine products to Americans.
