Saffron Road Founder Adnan Durrani Inducted into Specialty Food Association’s 2026 Hall of Fame

Industry pioneer recognized for more than three decades of mission-driven leadership in better-for-you foods and beverages.

STAMFORD, Conn., May 12, 2026 — American Halal Co, PBC d/b/a Saffron Road® today announced that its Founder and Chairman, Adnan Durrani, has been named to the Specialty Food Association’s (SFA) 2026 Hall of Fame, one of the industry’s highest honors. The award recognizes individuals whose impact, contributions, innovations, and successes have meaningfully shaped the specialty food industry.

Durrani will be inducted on Monday, June 29, at the Summer Fancy Food Show on the Main Stage in Hall E at New York City’s Javits Center, from 5 to 6 p.m.

“Championing our members is the Specialty Food Association’s most important function, and this includes celebrating standout achievements,” the SFA said in announcing the honor.

A pioneering food & beverage entrepreneur, Socially Responsible Investor (“SRI”), and purpose-driven brand builder, Durrani has helped reshape the specialty and better-for-you food landscape for more than three decades. As Founder and Chairman of Saffron Road®, he has built a mission-led brand celebrated for globally inspired cuisine, clean labels, and an unwavering commitment to sustainability, ethical & halal sourcing, and social responsibility — values embedded in the company’s Certified B Corp status.

Earlier in his career, Durrani founded Vermont Pure Springs, growing it into one of the largest bottled water brands in the Northeast, now part of Primo Brands (PRMB). He was also a principal shareholder and partner in Stonyfield Farm prior to its sale to Groupe Danone in 2001. His legacy of social entrepreneurship reflects Adnan’s passion for innovating new or niche food categories into successful challenger food & beverage brands that are better for your health, for the environment, and for humanity. He has been recognized among leaders whose ideas have changed how business is done globally, named one of Big Path Capital’s 2026 Top 100 Impact CEOs, and honored by the Vatican for his interfaith business model. He has served in influential leadership roles across academia, industry councils, and faith-based economic forums.

The Hall of Fame honor caps a milestone year also for Saffron Road.
