How Can I Ensure that Saffron Road Is Available at my Local Grocery Store?

If you are not satisfied with your Saffron Road purchase, then please send us an email at customerservice@saffronroad.com. Please include any information on the issues you had with your purchase.  If it is determined that a refund is needed, then refunds will be issued to the same credit card that was charged. We will process your refund request within 3-7 business days. Please allow additional time for your financial institution to post the refund to your account. Shipping and handling will not be refunded.

Can you freeze the simmer sauces?

Yes, our simmer sauces are ok to freeze but not in the pouch.


Can I use your simmer sauces in a slow cooker?
Yes, you can use our simmer sauces in a slow cooker! Instructions can be found below:
  • Heat the slow cooker while empty
  • Once the slow cooker is hot, add 2 tbsp sunflower oil or ghee and meat/veggies
  • Best cuts of meat to use are: dark meat chicken, stewing beef or lamb cut into cubes
  • Best vegetables to use: legumes, onions, potatoes, large dice zucchini, cabbage, tomatoes, green beans
  • Cook meat/veggies 1-2 minutes per side until brown, if adding onions sauté them first
  • Add ½ cup of water and your chosen simmer sauce
  • Cook for 8 hours on low to medium setting

How do I prepare your frozen entrees?
Our frozen entrees can be prepared in the microwave or an oven! Microwave Instructions: 1100 Watts
  • remove tray from carton and slightly peel back film from one corner
  • cook on high for 4 minutes
  • peel film back enough to stir, replace film and cook on high for an additional 1-2 minutes
  • note: for our 2 enchilada entrées there is no need to stir, simply cook on high for 6 minutes until heated through
  • let stand 1-2 minutes
  • remove film, stir and serve.
  • CAUTION: PRODUCT WILL BE HOT!
  • note: microwaves vary, always cook to an internal temperature of 165° F
Oven Instructions:
  • preheat oven to 375°F
  • transfer food to an oven-safe dish and cover with foil
  • note: for Chicken Pad Thai and Vegetable Pad Thai add 5 tbsp of water
  • place dish in center of oven and cook for 30 minutes
  • carefully pull back foil, and stir
  • replace foil and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes
  • let stand 1 minute
  • remove foil, stir and serve
  • CAUTION: PRODUCT WILL BE HOT!
  • note: ovens vary, always cook to an internal temperature of 165° F
  • *Please note these cooking instructions are for our 10oz entrees. Please refer to the carton on how to prepare our family size meals.

What does Certified Gluten Free mean?

All our products that bear the “gluten free” claim, as well as the facilities manufacturing these products, are under supervision from a qualified third-party certifier, GFCO (Gluten Free Certification Organization). Each facility is subject to an annual inspection by trained auditors. Our standards pertain to GFCO’s strict standards and requirement, which include employee training, gluten testing of high-risk ingredients, and gluten testing of finished product per production lot/batch/run. Additionally, in between runs, all equipment is cleaned thoroughly following food industry standards; then protein and/or gluten testing of equipment surface contact is performed prior to start of production to verify cleanliness. The gluten limit for all testing is 10ppm. This limit is lower than FDA’s criteria for using “gluten free” claim, which is 20 ppm.


Why do you use Canola Oil?

We think Non-GMO Project Verified Expeller Pressed Canola Oil is the best choice for frying since it is heat tolerant and high in healthy monounsaturates.


Do any Saffron Road products contain alcohol?

We can confirm that there is no alcohol present in any of our products.

How are Saffron Road products harvested?

All of our livestock are Zabihah or hand-slaughtered individually by a Muslim reciting the tasmiya and the takbir in a very mindful and traditional way—making sure to ask for mercy from our creator and treating the animal as humanely as possible. In this manner, we believe the quality and purity of the meat harvested is much cleaner since all the impurities are diligently drained and since the animal is not under stress. Our consumers overwhelmingly tell us that our all-natural halal meat has an amazingly better taste, texture, and freshness that is far superior to the quality of commercial meat sourced from factory farms which machine slaughter their livestock. Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes, our trays and packaging are recyclable! Our trays are made from CPET (Crystalline Polyethylene Terephthalate) which is a safe and recyclable material that retains its shape under high temperatures. Please check with you local recycling facility to see if they accept plastic number 1.

How Are Our Livestock Sourced?
We source from family owned and local sustainable farms, including Amish farms. For our lamb, we only use livestock that have never been administered hormones and been pasture-raised and grass-fed in open fields. For our poultry, they are totally antibiotic-free.

What does "Certified Halal" Mean?
Halal Certification is the process of having a qualified, independent third party supervise the production of consumables and harvesting of livestock, attesting that they were completed in conformity with the preparation and ingredient qualifications of the highest halal standards. Our products are halal certified by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America.
